C&rsquo;est un ouvrage de construction qui fait saillie du corps principal de la forteresse. Il est g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement situ\u00e9 aux coins des courtines, comme point fort de la d\u00e9fense. <\/p>\n\n<p>Il s\u2019agit d\u2019un ouvrage de forme pentagonale en saillie du corps principal. Sa premi\u00e8re fonction consistait \u00e0 supprimer les angles morts dont pouvaient p\u00e2tir d\u2019autres constructions.
