Things to do in Hostalric

The town of Hostalric has an interesting calendar of festive and leisure activities.

Two of the best known celebrations, which have made a valuable economic and cultural contribution to the life of the town , are the Mediaeval Festival and Gastroart (formerly Saint Michael's Fair).

But we must not forget the wide range of other activities that take place. They include musical evenings at the Castle, the Open Theatre cycles, popular celebrations like the Giants’ Festival (Festa Gegantera), the parade marking the arrival of the Three Kings, and Carnival.

The Tourist Information Office also offers a series of activities which enable visitors to learn about the history and the legends in which the town is steeped.

No less important is the opportunity to enjoy the town’s gastronomy. Visitors can enjoy food ranging from traditional local favourites to sophisticated designer dishes.
